Somehow Sir Howard forgot to mention one onstage at Sony's CES press the current Dash 7 inch price is not just dropped to $149, but there will be soon a new with a built-in battery dash on the market. This is certainly a very welcome addition considering that we love exactly with the first went to a point of sale. Other than the removable battery the "new" Indent seems to run the software infused Chumby — even, but it seems to have a slightly different design. The new Dash batteries will be available in orange, brown and blue, then a version without battery will only be decorated in black colour. No word on price, but it will be available this summer. LAS VEGAS (CES Booth # solutions), the 5 January, 2011 – expanding its ability to provide customized, real-time throughout the House, Sony today announced the introduction of two new products Dash, including a new model of laptop batteries. Each will be available this summer.
The current model of Dash, with many new features and services added since its launch in April, will continue to be sold nationally and at a price now at $149.
Featuring 7-inch color touch screen, Sony Dash products use a wireless Internet connection to deliver real-time bits of information on the Internet. Fully customizable, Dash allows users to create their own list of personal reading over 1,000 free applications to enjoy in the kitchen, bedroom, Office or any other room in the House.
"Transportability was the next logical step in the evolution of our range of products Sony Dash, said Brennan Mullin, senior vice president of personnel for imaging and audio Sony business." With a battery, consumers have the freedom to Dash for a piece to another in their home, benefits of bites of glanceable, real-time information for new and exciting ways. »
Each of the new products of Sony's Dash use the content of chumby industries, Inc. to provide access to more than 1,000 apps free, including the Facebook ™, news, sports, webcams and much more. In addition, both models display weather forecasts updated AccuWeather ™ and include the Radio of SHOUTcast ™ directory which has more than 40,000 radio stations from around the world.
These new multi-purpose Dash models can be enabled and customized in minutes, without the aid of a PC. Out of the box setup is now faster and easier than ever.
For those who wish to benefit from recent photos of friends and family, popular photo sharing services such as Photobucket ™ and "Sony personal space" application are readily available. Each new Dash also has a USB port for easy connection to electronic devices external or media storage, as well as a built-in speaker.
New Dash model Sony laptop will be available in three colors including brown, slate blue and orange. The second model, without batteries, will be available in black.
Both models will be available this summer at www.sonystyle.com, Sony Style ® retail and stores across the network of Sony retailers nationwide. Prizes will be announced shortly.
In addition, in order to provide consumers even Beaver options to customize their units Dash, Sony will be supporting a dash "Development App" promotion and contest for prospective app developers. More details to come.
