If you are looking for a way convenient to make music with your computer (and who isn't?) and special direct your attention to the following Kinect hack. Shinect, designed by a YouTube user named Shinyless, uses the detection of movement you turn into a MIDI controller! The current implementation gives the operator two virtual buffers that can be enabled by the old Jersey Shore - fist pump and if that is enough, sounds can be pitchshifted by raising / lowering the other arm. Rather mild, Hein? This thing uses OpenNI, and while it is demonstrating to FruityLoops should work with any MIDI device. Although he promised great things in the future things are ready for the moment, pretty rough'n. In the meantime, discover the proof of concept in the video after the break.
