First Russia GLONASS phone a '4 iPhone competitor', except not really (video)

As account history, subsidiary Sitronics based Russia AFK-system (along with the United States ZTE Qualcomm and China) have developed the first smartphone to use GLONASS - specifically, one with a GPS-GLONASS 90nm chip. "Russian response to 4 iPhone" has been called in so many words, by the powers That Be, and without going into details key as a platform and specifications, we know officially that the phone is on sale Russia sometime in March for 10,990 rubles (around $360 in United States).

For further details about the device, seek more unofficial (and therefore not 100% confirmed) sources, like Eldar Murtazin remarkably well connected. According to him, we're watching the ZTE A918, an analog of the A916 with Android 2.1, 3.2 QVGA screen model inches, FM radio and camera 2 megapixel - Yes, just a competitor to iPhone 4, if you ask us. That version supposedly is launching in MTS 7,500 rubles ($246), which means that the equivalent of fitted with GLONASS has a brand of 3,490 rubles ($114). And the version of March? Apparently in limited quantities, with mass production not arrive until the second half of the year 2011. Unfortunately, we are not sure that it may be making an appearance at CES for further inspection. Withdraw video after the break for a cameo from the device with Putin, Russia billionaire (and head of the system of AFK) Vladimir Yevtushenkov and Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov.
