Apparently fed up with the fragmented state of home automation solution, Somfy, known for its automatic selection of window coverings, has just announced a home of its own gateway. TaHomA (get it?) (Total Home Automation) is very much a device like Vera de Mi Casa Verde, with what looks like much slicker Home Motion-C and exclusive load RTS communication protocol Somfy Z-Wave wireless. Unlike the CVD, however, Somfy takes a more managed approach by offering an option expert configuration performed by authorised dealers. Afterwards, you will be able to manage all your wireless device modules and automatic scenes from anywhere in the world - via PC or iPad iPhone - thanks to the server the Somfy remote support. You can always make changes to the Tahoma yourself or ask the dealer to do on-site or remotely. Tahoma is set to launch in the first half of 2011 for an undisclosed price quarter United States. We'll see what we can do about getting some time to practice with him here at the front this date.
